2013 IS HUGE FAILURE YEAR.
I posted quite a bit on DA through June-July but those were actually drawn some time in March-April because I used them as prints during convention season, which started in May. Drew only one picture in June and one doodle in Sept, then some sketches in October. I started getting back into things in November because I had to draw for a couple artbooks (lol). I think December has been my best month since after so little drawing for most of the year, I found it easier to experiment with colouring and coming up with better concepts, though most December-drawings are only on my twitter/tumblr so any improvement/changes might not be noticeable.
Overall, I think I got better at cging this year (as a whole), since it was my resolution last year to improve at cging. I also worked on expressions/lighting a bit as well, since I realized much of my art from 2012 had 'same-face' issues orz (yeah, pretty much always going to draw girls because I draw what's enjoyable for me, but I still want to improve so that not every girl looks the same).
IDK, MY PROGRESSION IS UP DOWN DOWN DOWN SLIGHTLY UP. It was hard having motivation to draw for much of this year due to personal issues in my life which took precedence over everything else.
maybe you did not improve as much as you wanted to but I think that is okay
allocate time for drawing next year and hope for the best ; v ; !!
(though love the art from all your months lol)
It's crazy how much some people are able draw, I don't think I'll ever be like that ^p^;;;
Thank you very much! I think I forgot to post the May one on DA--
I personally thing your art has gotten 100% better in 2013 :3 Sometimes less drawing/more unfinished stuff means more progress/evolvement.
HNGG THANKS <3
I totally agree with you! I think when you're always drawing, you get into a rhythm which can be good speed-wise but if you're not careful, you get too comfortable and never experiment so things can get repetitive/boring. I always found it so hard to experiment because I'm not really good at trying new brushes/new things but after not drawing for half the year, this December has been very good in terms of trying new things!
omg yes. I know dat feel - becoming slower at drawing/ taking breaks to evaluate your process to improve it and adapt to doing new things, it's a really positive thing, you should be proud, it will pay off in the end! ( ^ w^b impulsive drawing or just to draw more can keep ya stuck, like you say.
no me neither I'm so uncomfortable with changing, it was tought but I've done it too.
great stuff u drawed there
